 Description:
Indications: Aid in the control of synthetic pyrethroid susceptible nuisance flies and biting insects, including domestic and bush flies (Musca sp.), stable fly (Stomoxys calcitrans), buffalo fly (Haematobia irritans exigua), and mosquitoes (Culex sp. and Aedes sp.). Aid in the control of Queensland itch in horses caused by biting midges (Culicoides sp.).
Warnings: Dangerous to fish. Do not contaminate streams, rivers, waterways or drains with the product or used container.
Precautions: A few horses, particularly those of the fine skinned Arab type, may react adversely to treatment with Swift. In such individuals, a small patch test is recommended to assess the sensitivity of a horse's skin to Swift. Apply a small stripe of Swift (approximately 10 to 15 cm long) at the base of the horse's neck and observe the area for 3 days. If no reaction occurs it is safe to apply Swift at the recommended dose rate. If any subsequent adverse reaction occurs, treatment must be stopped immediately and the horse washed with a large volume of cold water. Any resulting skin irritation or reaction is normally short lived. However, if the irritation persists, seek veterinary advice.
Apply Swift during the cooler part of the day, preferably in the shade. Skin reactions may occur if the product is applied during hot weather.
Safety directions. Harmful if swallowed. Will damage eyes. Will irritate the skin. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. When using the product wear rubber gloves. If product gets in the eyes, wash it out immediately with water. Wash hands after use. After each day's use, wash gloves. When handling animals immediately after treatment and when grooming treated animals, wear rubber gloves.

Withholding Periods: Meat. Horses: not to be used in horses that may be slaughtered for human consumption.
Directions for use: Apply at 10 mL/100 kg bodyweight
Swift should be applied using the graduated dispensing chamber incorporated into the container. Apply the measured dose along the backline, ensuring that the mane and the rump are treated. Take care to avoid eye contact. The product must not be applied forward of the ears. In case of accidental splashing into the horse's eye, the affected eye should be washed thoroughly and immediately with copious quantities of clean water, and veterinary attention should be sought.
Treatment should be started at the beginning of the Queensland itch season and should be repeated as necessary. Treat once weekly (or more frequently) as an aid in the control of Queensland itch. To aid in the control of nuisance flies, Swift should be applied every 6 weeks, or as required.
The efficacy of Swift can be affected by rain and activities such as brushing, washing, rugging, heavy riding etc. For best results, allow 12 to 24 hours for Swift to dry before exposing the horse to these activities.
