Description:
Each chewable contains 136 μg Ivermectin. For the prevention of heartworm disease in dogs by elimination of heartworm larvae (Dirofilaria immitis). Heart Shield Chewable will kill heartworm larvae, which are acquired from infected mosquitoes within the previous 30 days.
Consult a veterinarian before use and dogs need to be heartworm tested prior to use of this product – the first chewable should be given before exposure to infected mosquitoes and only given to heartworm free dogs. May be given to pregnant and stud dogs.
If any side affects occur consult you veterinarian. Do not use in puppies under 6 weeks old.Treatment for heartworm should occur regularly at 28–30 day intervals.
Dose rate:
Dogs less than 12 kg bodyweight; half a chewable monthly.
Dogs 12–22 kg; 1 chewable monthly.
Dogs over 22 kg; 2 chewables monthly.
